About StorX Network/SRX token

In Layman's terms, StorX is a decentralized cloud storage network, Which empowers users to store their data securely on the cloud. Each file uploaded on StorX is split and encrypted into multiple fragments to autonomous storage nodes operated by individual operators across the world who rent their spare disk space to create a decentralized network of storage nodes that is used to store data. The hosts of the storage nodes are rewarded in SRX tokens for leasing their disk space to those who require it. StorX can be considered as the Uber of cloud storage that brings those who require disk space and those who want to rent their unused disk space together.

SRX is the official native token/cryptocurrency of the StorX Network platform. The primary application of the token is to facilitate transactions and will be used to rent and lease decentralized cloud storage on the StorX Network.

StorX is based on a decentralized architecture that is managed by the community, for the community. This means that StorX is much more cost-effective compared to a centralized cloud storage service while also being more superior in terms of features. StorX is a more secure, reliable, robust, redundant, and greener cloud storage solution.

StorX is powered by XinFin Blockchain Network's hybrid blockchain.

Getting Started

SRX would soon be available on Tier 1 crypto exchange by June 2021.

All packages have been set with a standard limit. Once you reach the specified limit, you would no longer be allowed to upload the file, you can either upgrade your package to increase the amount of storage available on StorX or delete some files or folders that you no longer require to increase free space on your cloud.

StorX is greener compared to its centralized counterparts as it utilizes readily available unused disk space to store data rather than large energy-intensive data centers.

StorX is completely open-source and supports open standards as much as possible. Users aren't locked into proprietary formats and can export and import everything.

Yes, staking SRX is necessary to qualify for hosting Storage Nodes on StorX. This is to ensure that bad actors refrain from hosting storage nodes and only those who are genuinely interested in the StorX Network Project participate to host storage nodes.

In the European Union, the Directive 2000/31/EC protects hosts if they meet certain conditions set by the European Parliament and the council of the European Union.

In the United States of America, section 512 of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act protects hosts from content submitted by the user. Websites, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and storage providers are considered secure under section 230 (c)(1) of the Communication Decency Act. It is a part of internet legislation that provides immunity from third-party content. This section has never been tried in a court of law specifically accusing websites.

If you want to learn more about the laws and consequences associated with hosting a node, we recommend that you contact your legal representative for further legal advice.

Agreements between the host and the renter are settled at the rate the host sets and the renter agrees upon at the beginning of the contract. If the price of the SRX token fluctuates significantly during the contract, the host will still receive the same amount of SRX tokens that was agreed in the contract but there is no guarantee that the price of the token remains the same when converted to fiat at the time. This scenario does not have any effect on the renter as they obtained SRX tokens and exhausted them at the beginning of the contract to lease storage before the value of the token fluctuated. As a host, you can mitigate the changes in the price of the token by adjusting your hosting prices accordingly to maintain the same margin of profit.
